Creating a workplace where employees feel supported, valued, and cared for is no longer optional — it’s essential. This program will explore how HR leaders and business professionals can address the wide range of stressors impacting today’s workforce, from financial pressures and caregiving responsibilities to health concerns, burnout, and life challenges. This session will highlight the business case for prioritizing mental health, outline key principles of a culture of care, and showcase practical strategies and holistic well-being resources that foster resilience, engagement, and retention. Attendees will walk away with actionable steps to assess employee needs, integrate inclusive support systems, and empower leaders to champion well-being across their organizations.
By the end of this program, HR professionals will be able to:
• Identify the diverse personal and workplace challenges that impact employee mental health, including stressors related to work, caregiving, health, finances, and life events.
• Explain the business case for cultivating a culture of care and its connection to employee engagement, retention, and organizational success.
• Apply the principles of psychological safety, inclusivity, and proactive support to HR practices that influence well-being.
• Evaluate holistic well-being resources—including mental, physical, financial, and social supports—and determine how they can be integrated into existing HR programs.
• Develop an implementation roadmap for assessing employee needs, designing and communicating resources, training managers, and measuring impact.
• Model leadership behaviors and communication strategies that normalize mental health conversations and reduce stigma in the workplace.
Meet the Speaker:

Stephanie Morris, MSW, PCR
Stephanie graduated with a master’s degree in clinical social work from Westfield State University and a Certification in Women’s Leadership. Within graduate studies, Stephanie’s focus on a medical walk-in, inner city, Integrated Behavioral Health Treatment modality, and its impact on the community’s overall health factors led to further work as a Clinical Quality Analyst. After co-launching the first public-facing health clinic at Behavioral Health Network in Springfield, MA, Stephanie moved into the Human Resources team, pushing to re-employ our community post-COVID as a Sr Recruiter and obtained her Professional Certification in Recruitment. Stephanie utilized her clinical background to develop employment and employee strategies, implement organizational changes, and has recently become one of BHN’s first HR Business Partners representing the Outpatient, Emergency Services, and Central Intake programs, spanning seven sites across Western Massachusetts.
